Full-Grain Italian Leather

Built for Dogs. Made to Last.

Some things are worth making properly. A collar your dog wears every single day is one of them.

Our Story

The Lille Björn

The Lille Björn was founded in September 2024 on a simple observation: most leather dog accessories aren't actually made from good leather. Full-grain, vegetable-tanned, chromium-free, finished by hand. We wanted all of it, so we made it. The kind of thing that gets better the longer it's worn. Our artisans with over 10 years of experience work in Ukraine, and every collar, leash, harness, and nametag we make ships worldwide.

Our Materials

Italian Leather. Solid Brass. Nothing in Between.

We use full-grain vegetable-tanned leather because it's the outer layer of the hide where the fiber structure is tightest and most durable. Chromium-free tanning means no heavy metal residues against your dog's skin. Pieces are joined by riveting method, not glue, so the leather keeps breathing instead of trapping moisture against your dog's skin. The leather is 3mm thick, softens over the first two weeks of wear, and conforms precisely to your dog's body over years of daily use. The brass hardware is solid, not plated. It resists rust and corrosion, develops a stable patina, and holds its structural integrity under the daily load of an active dog. Our nametags are cast from recycled brass and deep engraved by hand: name on the front, optional phone number on the back.

Our Approach to Fit

Because One Size Has Never Fit All Dogs

A 2cm collar on a Newfoundland and a 4.5cm collar on a Chihuahua are the same mistake in opposite directions. We make three widths: 2cm for small and fine-boned breeds, 3cm for most dogs, and 4.5cm for large and long-necked breeds where a wider contact surface distributes pressure more evenly across the neck. Our Vero harness run from XXXS to XL for the same reason. The chest strap geometry keeps leash tension off the throat and distributes load across the sternum and ribcage. Fit isn't a detail. It's the whole point.

Sustainability

The Most Sustainable Thing Is Something That Lasts

Vegetable tanning instead of chromium salts. Recycled brass for nametags. Small artisan workshops instead of factories. Made to order instead of stocked in bulk. And full-grain leather that, with occasional wax-based conditioning every two to three months, will outlast the synthetic alternative you'd replace three times over. Buy it once. Keep it.

Meet the Team

Small Team. Every Decision Deliberate.

We're a small founding team and we oversee every part of what we make: leather sourcing, material specification, hardware selection, and fit architecture across the full range. From supplying our full-grain vegetable-tanned leather to the solid brass alloy in our hardware, every material decision comes back to us. Nothing goes into a product we haven't verified ourselves. That's not a brand promise. It's just how small teams work.
